AmaWaterways today announced the debut of its 2017/18 Africa Brochure, which features a new ‘Wildlife & the Falls’ itinerary, giving guests the opportunity to experience Johannesburg, a Chobe River safari in Botswana, Victoria Falls and game drives in Greater Kruger National Park.

The new 12-night itinerary will begin in Johannesburg at the luxurious Fairlawns Boutique Hotel in a Grand Chateau Suite. Guests will then embark on a four-night luxury cruise and experience a safari in Chobe National Park. The final week will include a guided tour of Victoria Falls National Park, a tour of Nelson Mandela landmarks, a stay at Tintswalo Safari Lodge (pictured left) and daily morning, afternoon and evening game drives through Greater Kruger National Park.

“We’re very excited to introduce a brand new itinerary as part of our exotics collection in Africa, onboard the beautiful, elegant, modern Zambezi Queen,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “It’s fascinating to sail down the Chobe River and observe rides of lions, hyenas, cheetahs and hippos in their natural environment. The Wildlife & the Falls journey will give our guests a once in a lifetime opportunity to see some of Africa’s most treasured wonders.”

In addition to AmaWaterways’ newest Africa itinerary, the company will also feature several other unique sailings onboard the Zambezi Queen in the 2017/18 season. AmaWaterways’ full list of 2017/18 Africa itineraries includes:

All sailings will take place onboard the all-suite, 28-passenger Zambezi Queen (pictured right). Often referred to as a ‘floating lodge,’ the Zambezi Queen was designed for optimal game viewing. The top level of the ship features an open-air pool deck, where travelers can relax with mesmerizing 360-degree views of the Chobe River and its daily visitors, including the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. Cruisers will enjoy private balconies and spacious staterooms, as well as air conditioners throughout. The environmentally responsible eco-ship uses a jet propulsion system that preserves the river bed and uses a solar heating system to supply guests with hot water.
