Three nations have warned their citizens against traveling to the US as security measures following violent protests in this part of the world triggered by police shootings of black American men.
Generally, the US is quick to advise its citizens to exercise caution while travelling to countries that are struck by violence or political insecurity. In the month of July, US had warned its people to stay safe while travelling to Mali, Iraq, Venezuela and Bangladesh.
This time, however, America is the region that raises concern amongst foreign governments in the Caribbean and the Middle East as protests marred US over the brutal killings of black men by policemen in Minnesota and Louisiana.
The protests have led to widespread agitation and confrontations between demonstrators and police. American was also reeling under the shockwaves sparked by a black gunman killing five policemen in Dallas during a protest.
On Saturday, the US Embassy of the region of Bahrain took to twitter to ask citizens to be careful in crowded places or protests in the US.
And, on Friday, the government of Bahamas that houses a majority of Africans warned its people to be cautious as they pay visit to American cities devastated by the killings of black men by police.
The foreign ministry of Bahamas advised young males to be very careful while interacting with the police, suggesting that they should cooperate with the latter rather than being confrontational.
The UAE Embassy also warned its citizens to beware of crowded places in the US and large festivals, and avoid US demonstrations.
Some tourists in Times Square, New York, asserted that they disliked crowded places and were tensed after the recent protests in the US.
