The Al Hamra Village-based Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah awarded
Best Tourism and Leisure Project of the Year; Al Hamra’s newest real estate
offering, Bayti, wins Best Residential Property of the Year
Al Hamra Real Estate Development (AHRED) has extended its winning
streak after claiming two awards at the recent MEED Quality Awards for Projects.
The Al Hamra Village-based Waldorf Astoria won Best Tourism and Leisure Project
UAE while the recently launched Bayti, meaning ‘my home’ in Arabic, picked up
Best UAE residential Property of the Year.
“Al Hamra Real Estate Development has once again demonstrated why
we are the most successful developer in the Northern Emirates. This reaffirms
our commitment to designing and delivering world-class products across our
residential and leisure portfolio and highlights our ability to deliver against
regional and international high standards,” said Benoy Kurien, General Manager,
AHRED.
The awards, in association with Mashreq, are the first awards programme
in the GCC to recognise completed schemes with an independent judging panel consisting
of members of the GCC Societies of Engineers evaluating the outcome of the
construction process, rather than the process itself.
“Bayti offers much more than just a
home. With 50% of the total area dedicated to green spaces, we have created a
community centred on family living and family values, whether it’s as a primary
residence or second home,” said Kurien
“It also reflects our commitment to
delivering the highest quality possible across all our developments, from
construction through to the well thought-out interiors and the use of
sustainable technologies with LEED certification, which consume less energy and
reduce consumption costs while also contributing to a higher resale value,” he
added.
The accolades come hot on the heels of
Al Hamra’s success at the International Property Awards where the Waldorf was
again successful as Overall (Arabia) Regional Winner
in the 2015 Hotel Architecture category.
“Al Hamra was up against more than 490 entries from 75 countries
in the architecture category, so to win this accolade is not only a huge honour
but also sets us apart as a developer that delivers against the most stringent
criteria on the international stage,” said Kurien.
The precursor to the International
Property Awards, the Arabian Property Awards, Al Hamra was awarded a total of
five titles including the ‘Retail Architecture’
category award for its Manar Mall, shopping complex, which is currently under
an impressive renovation and expansion plan. Next in line were two awards for
its popular Al Hamra Village community, which bagged the ‘Architecture Multiple
Residence’ and ‘Golf Development’ categories.
The final award was given to Royal Breeze Residence, which scooped
the ‘Residential High-Rise Development’ category award. The development offers
a shoreline lifestyle spread across five residential towers with apartments and
penthouses offering 42 up to 670-square metres of space, complemented by
stunning Arabian Gulf or scenic golf course views.
Commenting
on the quality of entries, Richard Thompson, Editorial Director, MEED, said:
“We congratulate Al Hamra Real Estate Development for their outstanding
achievements in project delivery and their invaluable contribution towards the
continuing development of the projects sector in the GCC. Their strict
adherence to quality standards have pushed the bar higher for project
excellence and showcase the very best of what the region has to offer.”
