This year the World Airline Awards 2016 witnessed Qatar Airways and Emirates, the two Gulf-based carriers grabbing the majority of awards in the leading categories.
On Tuesday travelers have voted Emirates Airlines as the best airline of the world and Qatar Airways has received the second rank in this category. The awards event was arranged in UK’s Farnborough Airshow.
Singapore Airlines was placed in the third position as the world’s best airline.
Lufthansa, Etihad Airways, Qantas Airways, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Turkish Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways are the other airlines that have been ranked in the top 10 category in the awards show.
Tim Clark, president, Emirates Airlines said that he was really honored to be appreciated as the world’s best airline. He also added that the goal of Emirates has always been to enhance customer satisfaction.
He went on to add that he was grateful for the fact that the airline awards were a consequence of the direct feedback from air travelers and that it was a wonderful recognition for all the dedication that has been pooled in order to make Emirates successful.
Emirates Airlines has also managed to retain its position in the category of the World’s Best Inflight Entertainment thanks to its dynamic performance.
Apart from these prestigious awards, Emirates continued to retain its position in several other categories too, as it performed nicely in Economy, Business and First Class. Emirates also won in the category of the World’s Best Cabin Staff.
At the same time, Qatar Airways had also bagged a series of other top awards like those in categories of Best Airline Staff, World’s Best Business lass Lounge and World’s Best Business Class alongside gaining the second rank as the world’s best airline.
