SPEAK ATHENIAN CAMPAIGN | THE INITIATIVE



The award-winning campaign for Athens "SPEAK AΘENIAN. BE AN ΑΘENIAN.", goes "live" in 2016 in the city and the airport!



Hipstorical, Theatricult, Philosofa. Words that are included in the new language of Athens and are promoted in the twice awarded campaign “Speak Aθenian. Be an Aθenian.”, which is the third part of the Aθenian trilogy. The new vocabulary captures the many, fascinating and diverse faces of Athens, bringing creatively together the past with the present. Aiming to promote Athens and its dynamics as a city break destination, this digital campaign, which emphasises and reveals the combination of its history and the unique modern profile of Athens, through the synthesis of greek and foreign terms, goes "live" finally in 2016, with a series of events in various areas within the airport and also in the capital, revealing with originality the Athenian experience.

The campaign “Speak Aθenian. Be an Aθenian.” began in December through social media and on May will become dynamically active with a pantomime event at the airport.

Specifically the “Aphrawdite” and “Hipstorical” modules enlivened the campaign through numerous imaginative events. Competitions, live events, offers and discounts in shops at the airport and the city, discount schemes in museums and museum shops, even Athenian cocktails and hairdos, in collaboration with shops and also tourist agencies and organisations, "give the pulse" of the city and capture the unique combination of Athenian history, modern life and urban culture.

The campaign activation with “Aphrawdite” and “Hipstorical” is performed with the valuable participation of the following shops at the Airport Shopping Centre: Hellenic Duty Free Shops, Apivita, Artpoint Papasotiriou, Inglot, Konstantinos Xatzis, Papasotiriou Books and more, Optical Papadiamantopoulos, Accessorize, Presspoint Papasotiriou and Art Discovery in Museums. Ouzology is the next module enlivened. In conclusion, through the new language of Speak Athenian, after a thrilling journey through culture, taste, experiences, everyone will be able to speak Athenian. And everyone becomes an Athenian!
