Currently a water-treatment plant is being built and it will optimize the quality of the irrigation water, removing the organic matter and salts and improve the pH levels. This improvement will have a direct impact on the turf of all playing areas and it will result in a more homogeneous, dense and sustainable surface.
In addition, the grass on 4 greens will be changed, 2 on the East course and another 2 on our championship course, the West. Our Greenskeeper has chosen a new generation grass variety, more suitable for our warm climate and with more resistant to diseases. These works will take place from June 13th to September 15th. During this period temporary greens will be provided on the 4 holes.
Finally, 3 lakes on the East course will be renovated during July. A total area of more than 9.000 m2 will be waterproofed which will reduce water consumption by eliminating leaks, as well as improve the aesthetics of the course.
These works will allow both Marriott Son Antem golf courses to retain their preferred status on the island of Mallorca.
