Hilton Garden Inn Debuts on Oahu, Hawaii

MCLEAN, VA—Hilton Garden Inn has opened its second property in Hawaii, the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach. It is the brand's first property in the Waikiki area of Honolulu, its 700th worldwide and its largest property of all time. The newly redeveloped Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, managed by Evolution Hospitality, brings 623 new rooms to the brand.
"Opening our second Hilton Garden Inn branded hotel in Hawaii, the first in the capital of Hawaii, is a major feat for the brand, which is expanding at a rapid pace," said John Greenleaf, global head, Hilton Garden Inn. "With 11 Hilton Worldwide hotels open or in various stages of development in Hawaii, Hilton Garden Inn brings in a new, diverse option for guests that allows for both a productive business trip and, at the same time, a leisurely stay with all the allure of a tropical vacation resort."
The hotel is located two blocks from Waikiki Beach, across the street from the revitalized International Market Place and 25 minutes from the Honolulu International Airport. It is within walking distance of a variety of the shopping, dining, cultural institutions and adventure activities.
"From the modern guestrooms to the grand, light and airy lobby space, the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach has been completely re-envisioned," said John Taffin, general manager. "We're proud to present this upscale hotel brand in true friendly Waikiki style to our guests planning leisure vacations, as well as business meetings and conferences on the island of Oahu."
The property recently underwent an extensive $115-million redevelopment and now features a revamped lobby with communal seating and classic Hawaiian design. There are high wooden ceilings, bordered by gallery-lit Hawaiian kapa prints on reclaimed wood and a color palette that pays homage to the islands through natural materials, finishes and textures. The decor is carried into guestrooms where pops of cobalt and tangerine are reflected and patterns that echo elements such as the ocean and sky provide an island sense of place, according to the company.
All 623 guestrooms, including one- and two-bedroom suites, feature the brand's signature bedding, a 48-in. HDTV with premium channels, and an in-room hospitality center with a microwave, mini refrigerator and Keurig coffee/tea maker. Most rooms will include a walk-out lanai with seating. All suites and many rooms will have partial ocean or city views. Adjoining rooms are also available.
Public areas feature a newly designed rooftop pool area with poolside bar, and separate state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training fitness centers. The onsite Holoholo Café & Market provides grab-and-go food.
The hotel also features a meeting room with naturally lit meeting space for up to 30 people. Amenities include complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel and a 24-hour business center.
