The Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau announced an array of new attractions, excursions and offerings that will propel Cancun into an exciting 2016.
Tour operators and hoteliers expect the destination to top 2015’s record-breaking year of 5 million visitors by around four percent.
In honor of the 25th anniversary celebration of the popular Xcaret Park, the opening of the new Xenses Park has been announced. With an investment of over $20 million USD, Xenses is slated to open to the public on June 1, 2016, and is expected to receive about 1,500 to 3,000 visitors per day. The new park will create sensorial, olfactory, auditory and tactile experiences for its visitors through the combination of various natural elements and visual effects.
In January 2016 the destination welcomed the inauguration of Hyatt Ziva Cancun, the second Hyatt all-inclusive resort property in Cancun. Some of the all-inclusive perks guests can enjoy during their stay at the newly unveiled property include an on-site microbrewery, a tequila bar, and a sweets shop featuring pastries and chocolate fountains.
The official opening of Cancun’s new wax museum took place last month on January 20, 2016. Located at La Isla Shopping Village in the Cancun Hotel Zone, the city’s first ever wax museum has 23 rooms displaying more than 100 characters from movies to sports and music figures.
