Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa launches ‘Unique Experiences’ programme

Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa reopens on 18 March 2016 and has unveiled a series of ‘Unique Experiences’ for its fifth season to help guests discover Mallorca’s distinctive culture, cuisine, scenery, wildlife and local produce.

Guests can book a number of excursions including heli-hikes, Harley Davidson tours, private speedboat trips or food lovers can discover the traditional, local cuisine.

Thrill-seeking guests can experience the Balearic island’s unparalleled beauty on a trip through the Tramuntana Mountains on a Harley Davidson. For those in search of combined land and air adventure, the once-in-a-lifetime heli-hiking experience involves a 20-minute helicopter ride, followed by a hike along one of Mallorca’s most beautiful coastal trails to a secluded cove. The trip is rounded off with a swim and lunch, before heading back to the hotel by private speedboat.

Foodies can visit the nearby orange co-operative, managed by local farmers, to try their hand at marmalade-making or hike to the picturesque town of Banyalbufar which includes wine tasting en route. Early risers can venture into the Soller Mountains to learn about olive-growing, before sitting down for a traditional local breakfast.

For those seeking to explore the local culture, Jumeirah Port Soller can arrange day tours to Palma’s finest art galleries and museums – including the world-renowned Joan Miró Foundation, Es Baluard Museum and Caixa Forum Foundation; as well as lesser-known private studios. Guests can also take a private speedboat to the Cabrera National Park – an island off the coast of Mallorca which offers historical sites, crystal-clear waters, marine caves and snorkelling in the summer months.

Birdwatching enthusiasts can take a guided two-hour walking tour around the northern coast of Mallorca, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn and spot native and migratory species along the way. This area has been heralded as one of the best places to spot the endangered black vulture, the largest bird in Europe. Built on a cliff overlooking the fishing village of Port Soller, Jumeirah Port Soller offers 121 airy sea or mountain facing rooms and suites, connected by wonderful scented gardens – all offering far-reaching views over one of the most picturesque horse shoe bays on the island. Available year-round and bookable as a supplement to any room package, these ‘Unique Experiences’ are an unbeatable way to discover all that this Mediterranean island has to offer, ensuring guests enjoy an experience of a lifetime.
