Ahmed Noureddine entrusted with keeping Palm Jumeirah’s only British themed hotel
and hotel apartments spick-and-span as P&G-trivago
research shows cleaniness is essential to positive online ratings
Dubai-based luxury property developer and
holding company Seven Tides International has announced the latest addition to
its pre-opening team, with the appointment of executive housekeeper, Ahmed Noureddine, for DUKES Dubai, its latest five-star hotel and hotel
apartments project, on Palm Jumeirah.
With more than 15
years’ experience in hospitality management and staff training, Noureddine has managed cost effective and efficient housekeeping
operations for leading hotels and organisations around the world, including IHG
Dubai Festival City, Rosewood London and the Andaz Hotel London by Hyatt, among
others. He speaks five languages – English, Spanish, Arabic, French and
Portuguese – and has solid experience of keeping luxury properties
spick-and-span.
“The Dubai
hospitality market is exceptionally competitive and positive online ratings are
essential if DUKES Dubai is going to gain, retain and continue to grow its
market share. Cleanliness will be at the very heart of our operation and I’m
very pleased that in Ahmed we have an expert to head-up this vitally important
division,” said Mete Atakuman, General Manager,
DUKES Dubai.
Indeed P&G
Professional a division of US
multinational Proctor and Gamble, recently announced the findings of research
carried out with hotel search engine trivago to ascertain the potential impact of
a hotel’s cleanliness on a guest's online review.
Over 60% of
trivago’s users read online reviews before making their final booking decision
and the feedback from trivago's own ‘Quality Test’, a mystery guest programme
(genuine guests are given a cash incentive to complete a detailed questionnaire
about their experience), indicated that 78% of guests expect an ‘above average'
level of cleanliness and that if they rate a hotel as clean, they are more
likely to give the hotel a high rating overall. Moreover, an increase of one
star rating in cleanliness is likely to improve the overall rating of a
property by up to one star.
“That is quite a
responsibility for all housekeepers to live up to. Through guest satisfaction,
we are accountable not only for the cleanliness, but indirectly for the business
performance and the reputation of DUKES Dubai. It is literally in our hands and
that is something I will use to motivate every single member of the
housekeeping team,” stated Noureddine.
Opening in Q4
2016, DUKES Dubai is centrally located on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, just 10
minutes’ drive from Dubai Marina and Sheikh Zayed Road, and only 45 minutes
from Dubai International Airport, DUKES Dubai hotel and apartments is set to
add a distinctly British flavour to the city’s luxury hospitality offering.
The 279 guestrooms
and 227 hotel apartments will offer world-class leisure, conference and
entertainment facilities including a stunning private beach, indoor pool,
outdoor infinity pool and state-of-the-art gym, along with a number of food and
beverage outlets.
