Le Méridien New Orleans opens following a comprehensive $29 million conversion of the former W Hotel. The multimillion dollar renovation includes a redesign of all 410 guestrooms, the debut of three new food and beverage outlets, the addition of the signature Le Méridien Hub, 1,600 square feet of new, flexible meeting space (for a total of 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space) as well as a new landscaped palm garden incorporating large-scale artwork and outdoor seating for guests, with the ability to host private events.
“Watching our hotel undergo such a significant transition has been an exhilarating journey,” said John Thompson, General Manager of Le Méridien New Orleans. “We are thrilled to unveil our beautiful new hotel and look forward to showing our guests a new perspective on the Big Easy.”
To fete the opening of Le Méridien New Orleans, the hotel will host a First Night celebration on March 5th. Guests of the event will be invited to experience many of the global programs that the brand is best known for – taste mouthwatering fare from LMNO; sip Sparkling aperitifs from Longitude 90; enjoy a live performance by French bossa-nova band, Nouvelle Vague; and sample Chef Johnny Iuzzini’s newest Éclair recipe inspired by the Crescent City itself. Iuzzini will also attend the event to premiere the latest episode of The Éclair Diaries which accompanies him around New Orleans gathering culinary inspiration for this recipe.
