EVA Air Again Ranks Among World’s Top-10 Safest Full-Service Airlines

EVA Air is ranked as one of world’s top-10 safest full-service airlines by websiteAirlineRatings.com. Others in the top-10 in alphabetical order are: Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Finnair, Lufthansa, Qantas and Singapore Airlines. EVA has achieved and maintained it rating by meeting the website’s strict safety criteria.

AirlineRatings.com evaluated all of the 449 airlines it regularly monitors and rated them based on analyses of seven criteria that include data from governments and leading industry associations. To rank among the top-10, EVA earned the maximum of seven stars for safety and underwent close scrutiny.

“Our top-ten safest airlines are always at the forefront of safety innovation and launching new planes,” said AirlineRatings.com Editor Geoffrey Thomas. “EVA Air has been selected in our top ten safest airlines because of its continuous focus on safety and excellent operational record.”

EVA maintains its safety record by never compromising maintenance, repair or upkeep. It takes precautions to ensure that every flight is safe from gate-to-gate. Achievements such as this top-10 ranking are a credit to both EVA and Taiwan’s aviation industry.

“It is an honor for EVA to stand out in the full-service airline crowd and rank as one of the world’s top-10 safest airlines,” said EVA Chairman K. W. Chang. “This distinction is the result of in-depth analysis by industry experts, making it especially meaningful and welcome. Safety and quality service are and will always continue to be EVA’s priorities.”

Airlines on the top-10 safety list earned:
  • Two stars for having the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA’s) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification,
  • One star for not being listed on the European Union Blacklist,
  • One star for maintaining a fatality-free record for the past 10 years,
  • One star for being endorsed by the US FAA and
  • Two stars for originating in a country that meets all eight International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) parameters.

In addition, these airlines did not lose:
  • One star because of fleet grounding by a country’s governing aviation safety authority for safety concerns or
  • One star for operating only Russian-built aircraft.

AirlineRatings.com recently ranked EVA seventh among the world’s top-10 airlines for product quality as well, designating it a carrier of choice for business and leisure travel in 2015, and honored it with an Excellence Award as the Best Long-Haul Airline Asia/ Pacific among carriers based in the region. The website’s editors and staff are recognized around the globe for their deep airline-industry knowledge and expertise.

Aero International has also ranked EVA as one of the world’s top-10 safest airlines seven times since 2004. With performance, it has also demonstrated zero-defects in the IATA Operational Safety Audits (IOSA) that have taken place every two years since 2005.
