The newly formed Oris Fire Stars Aerobatic Display Team will make its Australian debut at Airshow 2015.
This team was formed in China in 2012 and features four outstanding South African-based pilots.
Lead pilot Mark Hensman, a two times national aerobatic champion, is a regular competitor on the international circuit. He is widely lauded for his breathtaking precision flying displays.
Hensman began flying as a teenager in his native Zimbabwe and has been involved in aviation ever since.
"Aerobatics is not something you can stop," he recently said.
"Once it is your blood it is there for good."
Mark Hensman and his highly talented team of daredevils will dazzle and amaze with their spectacular routine of rolls, loops, tumbles and spins.
The Oris Fire Stars are the only civilian aerobatic team in China and will perform a four-ship routine.
The team flies the German-designed XtremeAir XA42 aircraft. This high performance aircraft were selected because of its raw power and its ability to handle G forces of plus/minus 10 during the aerobatic performances.
The Oris Fire Stars will join high flying daredevils from throughout the world to perform at Airshow 2015.
Like the barnstormers of old, these daring young men and women in their flying machines will captivate the crowd with gravity-defying feats of bravery and skill.
The Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defence Exposition will be staged at Avalon Airport 24 February to 1 March. The event is open to the public from the afternoon of Friday 27 February and all day Saturday and Sunday.
