NEW ERA FOR ZAMBIAN LUXURY TRAVEL

Ms. Emmanuelle Moneger has been appointed as General Manager of The
Royal Livingstone Hotel, one of three properties within Sun International’s exclusive SUNLUX Collection. Emmanuelle was previously Regional Manager at &Beyond where she developed luxury travel experiences across Africa and Central India. Meanwhile, the government of the Republics of Zambia and Zimbabwe jointly announced the launch of the KAZA UNIVISA, the new common tourist visa for the SADC region, which will be piloted by Zambia and Zimbabwe for the next 6 months before being rolled out to Angola, Botswana and Namibia.
Acknowledged as one of the safest countries in the world to visit, Zambia's safari experiences are creating increasing numbers of differing authentic experiences for high-end travellers visiting the country.
Ms. Moneger comments: “The Royal Livingstone Hotel is an amazing property full of heritage and history and I am thrilled by this new opportunity. I am looking forward to working with the wonderful team at The Royal Livingstone and across the community to create new unforgettable experiences, paying special attention to every detail for our guests. Over the past few years, my focus has been developing new safari lodges and I am hopeful that my experience together with the support of the local team will ensure the property is remembered a destination within the destination.”
Regarding the launch of the new visa, Emmanuelle says: “The KAZA UNIVISA is indeed an additional benefit for our clients who want to explore this amazing area as it will facilitate border crossing. A great incentive to experience both destinations allowing visitors to save time and money.“
French by birth, Emmanuelle holds a Masters degree in Hotel Management and Sports. She also has a Diploma in Management, Accounting and Human Resources.  She joins the Sun International group to take up the role of General Manager for The Royal Livingstone, effective January 2015. Previously, Ms. Moneger was the Regional Manager for &Beyond based in Botswana, a role she held for six years. She also worked for &Beyond (formerly called CC Africa) as Operations Director of Tajsafaris for two years and General Manager of Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for three years.
Alison Mckie, Group Manager Marketing at Sun International commented:
“On behalf of the entire team at Sun International, we are delighted to welcome Emmanuelle Moneger as GM of The Royal Livingstone Hotel in Zambia.  Under her direction, we are confident The Royal Livingstone will continue to delight and surprise the most discerning of international travellers with exciting new experiences in this special destination. Her arrival at the same time as the KAZA UNIVISA is timely indeed – as we are located on the banks of the Zambezi River very close to the border into Zimbabwe, it will be wonderful for The Royal Livingstone to be able to offer guests a day trip to another country.”
The Royal Livingstone Hotel perches on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zambia, upstream of the mighty Victoria Falls to which Royal Livingstone guests have their own private entrance. With personal butlers, an exclusive range of sophisticated and authentic Zambian guest experiences and the elegance and luxury of an earlier bygone era, the Royal Livingstone is an increasingly popular hotel for the global luxury traveller.
Most recently and for the seventh year running, The Royal Livingstone Hotel has been awarded the 2013 World Travel Award for Leading Hotel in Zambia and is also recognised as one of the Best Hotels in the World according to the 18th annual edition of the Travel + Leisure's 2013 World's Best Awards.
