Since the beginning of 2014, British travellers search holiday opportunities in London for July and August 2014.
According to the statistics of hotel comparison website trivago.co.uk, London is followed by Edinburgh due to the Fringe Festival in August. Based on searches made between 1st January and 15th June for travel during July and August 2014, York is the third most popular national destination of Brits.
Four out of the top five international destinations are capital cities this summer. Paris becomes the most popular international destination.

The only European destination is Bulgaria’s Ravda, averaging £33 per night.

UK Travel Habits
* Brits will spend an average of £112 per night on their hotel this summer. This is higher than the global average of £96 per night. Norwegians spend the most (£122 per night) and Polish the least (£59 per night).
* Brits typically holiday for an average of 8.78 days, which is comparable to the global average of 8.79 days. Russians and Dutch take the longest holidays (average of 10.76 and 9.61 days, respectively).
* UK travellers start searching for their hotel an average of 115 days before their holiday, then book an average of 100 days before. This is considerably higher than the global average of 104 days before for searching and 89 days for booking. Greeks are the most last-minute, booking just 70 days before their trip.
