The International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) proudly announces best-selling author, speaker and life coach Valorie Burton will facilitate the IAEE Women’s Leadership Forum to be held 8 April 2015 in Washington, D.C.
IAEE’s Women’s Leadership Forum has been designed to focus on topics that are unique to women in the exhibitions and events industry. It is tailored for all women regardless of age, individual situation or current position held within their company. The forum will provide knowledge and strategies for attendees to succeed in their current positions, as well as motivation and inspiration to take their career to the next level. The Forum will provide the tools and resources for success while balancing life along the way.

Capricia Marshall is the former Chief of Protocol of the US from 2009-2013. Capricia is a lawyer and first worked on the East Wing staff for Hillary Clinton as Special Assistant to the First Lady. At the age of 32 she was appointed Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary. Elle Magazinehonored Marshall this past March during its annual “Women in Washington Power List.”
Casandra Matej, executive director of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau, oversees the promotion of San Antonio’s $11 billion visitor industry, with a $19 million budget and more than 80 employees. The SACVB is responsible for convention and group visitor sales, public relations, film location marketing and leisure visitor marketing. Through these efforts, the SACVB helps drive the city’s hospitality industry, which has an $11 billion economic impact, employs approximately 100,000 locally, and welcomes more than 25 million visitors annually.
Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, began her career in retail and catering by setting up and running a family-owned chain of coffee shops located throughout the South of England. As managing director, she was in charge of the expansion of the business which grew to 13 stores in three years, and was sold to a publicly listed company in December 2001. Bauer entered the meetings industry in 2002 as the marketing and operations director for the IMEX exhibition in Frankfurt. As a part of the original launch team for the exhibition, she managed all aspects of the marketing mix.
