International air traffic to/from the U.S.(1) totaled 28.5million passengers through February 2014, a seven percent increase over February 2013 year-to-date.
U.S. citizen travel (11.9 million) was up seven percent and comprised 42 percent of all air traffic. However, non-U.S. citizen air travelers (16.6 million) increased by six percent maintaining their market share at 58 percent.
U.S. airlines carried 15.0 million passengers, up five percent, their share declined to 53 percent. Foreign flags carried 13.4 million passengers, up almost nine percent from same period 2013.

Overseas air traffic accounted for 20.4 million passengers, 72 percent of all international, and grew by six percent. U.S. citizen travel (8.6 million) increased five percent and comprised 42 percent of overseas air traffic. Non-U.S. citizen air travelers (11.7 million) increased by six percent, increasing their market share to 58 percent.
U.S. airlines carried 10.3 million passengers, up four percent, their share dropping from 52 to 51 percent. Foreign flags carried 10.0 million passengers, up eight percent from February 2013 ytd.

Canadian air traffic accounted for 4.3 million passengers, 15 percent of all international traffic, and increased by five percent. U.S. citizen travel (788,000) increased four percent and comprised 19 percent of air traffic. Canadian, and other foreign national citizen air travelers transiting through Canada (3.5 million), increased by five percent. Market share remained unchanged.
U.S. flags carried 1.7 million passengers, up almost one percent from 2013, and their share declined to 41 percent. Foreign flags carried 2.5 million passengers, up eight percent.

Mexico air traffic accounted for 3.9 million passengers, 13 percent of all international traffic, and was up 13 percent. U.S. citizen travel (2.5 million) increased 15 percent and comprised 65 percent of all air traffic. Mexicans, and other foreign national air travelers (1.4 million) transiting through Mexico, increased by 11 percent, market share down to 35 percent.
U.S. flags carried 3.0 million passengers, up 11 percent from 2013, and their share dropped from 79 to 77 percent. Foreign flags carried 878,000 passengers, up 22 percent increasing share to 23 percent.
