Southern Africa consists of 15 countries, namely Angola, Botswana, DRC, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. For many travelers, a journey to any part of Africa is a trip of a lifetime, an adventure worth staying as long as one can and visiting as many destinations as possible.
Of course, unless time had no hand in a traveler’s plans, it would be impossible to visit every place one might wish to see. So today we are going to focus on South Africa, with side trips to two countries that are actually contained within the lands of South Africa – Lesotho and Swaziland. Both are landlocked countries within the country of South Africa. Travelers will be able to discover vibrant cities, majestic mountains, and lush valleys on this trip to a trio of Southern Africa countries.
South Africa
South Africa boasts a number of highly-modern yet quintessentially African cities, where skyscrapers, boutiques, and 5-star hotels co-exist harmoniously with vibrant African markets and crowded settlements. Iconic Cape Town knew its first inhabitants as early as 100,000 BC. Today, it is a cosmopolitan city of awe-inspiring beauty encompassing the Table Mountain National Park, a Natural World Heritage site.
