CLIA Announces 2013 Cruise Awards Finalists

Recently, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has announced the finalists for the 2013 Cruise
Industry Awards, the first to be held under the CLIA banner.

Cruise specialist agents from across Australia and New Zealand have made the short list, with 14 awards
to be announced across six categories. The accolades include a new CLIA Hall of Fame Award which
recognises and honours an individual who has made a significant contribution to the Australasian cruise
industry.

More than 400 industry members will attend the sell-out awards dinner at Sydney’s new Doltone House on
Hyde Park on Saturday February 8.

CLIA Australasia General Manager Brett Jardine said he looked forward to a great night of celebration
after another big year of cruising.

“All the finalists played an important part in making 2013 a prosperous year for cruising down under and
these awards are a great way for the cruise industry to applaud their efforts,” Mr Jardine said.

Mr Jardine said that Channel 7 sportscaster and host of AFL Game Day Hamish McLachlan will MC the
event for the first time. He will be joined by actress Melanie Vallejo, best known for her role as Sophie
Wong in Channel 7 series Winners & Losers.

Emirates will be the new Platinum Sponsor of the event which will be the inaugural awards dinner under
the CLIA banner (formerly ICCA). Carnival Australia and Royal Caribbean will both be gold sponsors while
silver sponsors will include Avalon Waterways, Tauck River Cruising, Cruise Passenger magazine and
Cruise Baltic.

In another first, there will be an official after party, sponsored by CLIA Executive Partner and market
leader in online travel technology, TravelTek, following the awards dinner.

Industry members can tweet with CLIA Australasia on the night using @CLIAAustralasia and
