Delta Air Lines Confirms Schedule for Istanbul – New York, JFK Nonstop Service in 2014

Delta Air Lines has confirmed that its seasonal nonstop flight between Istanbul Ataturk International and New York JFK will recommence effective June 2, 2014.

The flight will operate daily throughout the summer season using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 225 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM and Alitalia.

“Delta offers customers from Istanbul increased choice flying to the United States by offering our service when customers most want to visit – during the peak summer months,” said Perry Cantarutti, Delta’s senior vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Customers will also see the changes onboard as we continue to invest in products and services with new onboard offerings and improved facilities at JFK.”

Delta’s flight from Istanbul features 25 fully flat-bed seats in BusinessElite. Each forward-facing seat converts to a 180-degree full flat-bed and offers direct aisle access in a 1x2x1 configuration. All feature a 10.6” individual screen and a broad range of on demand entertainment in addition to a 110v AC power source and USB port. Delta is also offering Westin Heavenly in-flight bedding, designed and manufactured exclusively for Delta by Westin Hotels & Resorts, in BusinessElite. In addition to the Westin Heavenly In-Flight bedding, BusinessElite passengers will receive Delta’s Tumi amenity kit featuring Malin+Goetz products.

Delta has also invested in its Economy class with seats that provide additional legroom, adjustable headrests, personal in-seat entertainment screens with over 350 films, 250 TV shows, 100 hours of HBO, 4,500 songs and 30 games as well as USB power at each seat.   Customers flying in Economy Comfort, Delta’s premium economy service, benefit from up to four additional inches of legroom and 50 percent more recline than Delta’s standard international Economy class seats, as well as priority boarding.

Passengers flying into New York-JFK will benefit from Delta’s new JFK Terminal 4, part of a $1.4 billion project to create a state-of-the-art international gateway. One of the largest terminals in North America, Terminal 4 offers travellers a spacious environment with a wide variety of shopping and dining options. For BusinessElite customers, the Delta Sky Club at Terminal 4 features a Sky Deck – an outdoor airport terrace offering unprecedented runway views.

Other product initiatives being rolled out across Delta’s international fleet include the expansion of Wi-Fi service by the end of 2015. The introduction of Wi-Fi on Delta operated flights between Turkey and the U.S. will enable customers to get online throughout their journey
