International Visitor on U.S. Spending Data Release: 2012

International visitors spent a record-breaking $168.1 billion on U.S. travel and tourism-related goods and services in 2012, an increase of more than 10 percent when compared to 2011. 
On average, international visitors injected nearly $1.3 billion more a month into the U.S. economy than they did the previous year.
Americans spent nearly $118.1 billion traveling abroad last year (up 8%) - resulting in a $50.0 billion trade surplus for travel and tourism for 2012 - a 16 percent more favorable balance of trade than 2011 and the largest trade gap in history for U.S. travel and tourism.
