easyJet
has announced the launch of its Euro Currency Prepaid Card today –
28 May 2013 to help millions of passengers annually to spend currency
abroad easily and securely.
The new easyJet Euro Currency Prepaid card is a chip and pin Visa card which enables customers to load money onto the card quickly and securely in three easy steps after registering online at https://prepaidcard.easyjet.com/ or via SMS. The card can then be used at 23 million outlets and half a million ATMs in the Eurozone. Unlike many debit or credit cards, the easyJet Euro Currency Prepaid card can be used to make purchases and withdraw money from ATMs without incurring any fees or charges from the card issuer when used abroad*.
All money transferred or loaded onto the easyJet Euro Currency Prepaid Card is applied in pounds sterling at a fixed exchange rate for that day and then converted into Euros. With no transaction fees or charges when loading £100 or more and a small one-off fee of £5.95 when less than £100 is loaded for the first time, consumers can use the chip and pin card safe in the knowledge that their purchases will not be affected by fluctuating exchange rates, and with the added peace of mind that using the card won’t break the bank. Whether travelling regularly for business or for one-off leisure trips, easyJet’s Euro Currency Prepaid Card can be loaded or reloaded 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
Greg O’Gorman easyJet’s Head of Partner Marketing commented:
“We’re extremely pleased to be launching our easyJet Euro currency Prepaid Card as we know it presents real financial savings for consumers in comparison to the more traditional credit or debit cards and the associated charges which banks apply for their use abroad.
“It is also a great addition to the products and services that are currently available to our customers on easyJet.com and we’re certain that take-up will be high among our customers due to the savings that can be easily gained by using the card.
“It also brings peace of mind by providing a completely secure way to carry money when travelling with no minimum transfer amount, no monthly management fee or charge for its use when withdrawing Euro currency.”
