Brussels Airlines joins the Africa Travel Association Membership

The Africa Travel Association, the world's leading travel industry trade association promoting tourism to Africa, announced that Brussels Airlines, a Star Alliance member, has joined the thirty-eight year old global organization as a corporate member.
This new partnership comes on the heels of Brussels Airlines expanding the frequency of its African flight offerings to several destinations.

"We look forward to developing a strong and successful partnership with Brussels Airline," said Edward Bergman, ATA Executive Director. "With 2012 marking the arrival of the one billionth tourist worldwide and the steady emergence of Destination Africa as a site for business and pleasure travel growth, Brussels Airline's expansion represents both the reality and the potential of Africa's tourism industry."

Brussels Airlines, which currently offers flights to 19 destinations on the African continent, is expanding its African flight frequency by adding this summer more weekly flights to several existing destinations, including Dakar, Senegal, Freetown, Sierra Leone, Yaoundé, Cameroon, Cotonou, Benin, Freetown, Sierra Leone and Conakry, Guinea. Furthermore, thanks to the launch this spring of a new service to Washington, Brussels Airlines will link its Africa network also with the US Capital.

"Joining the Africa Travel Association is another clear example of our long lasting passion for Africa," says Brussels Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Lars Redeglix. "It illustrates our strong commitment towards the tourism development of the continent."
