In
celebration of the joy following the vote by the New Zealand
parliament to legalise same-sex marriage, Grand Mercure Puka Park,
on the Coromandel Coast (2 hours drive from Auckland) announces that
it continues to welcome all couples, with tailor made wedding
packages for the bridal party and guests.
Couples
have the choice of a ceremony on the beach at Pauanui or in the
magnificent private bush garden settings that dot the Resort,
followed by a sit-down reception for up to 120 people in the Puka
Room.
Grand
Mercure Puka Park is currently undergoing a massive refurbishment
program of all its guest rooms and public areas which will be
completed by the end of September; just in time for a late spring or
early summer wedding date, giving plenty of time to plan all the
finer details.
From
$160 per person, the package is inclusive of a tailored lunch or
dinner menu, 4.5 hours of beverages, canapés with pre dinner drinks,
venue hire, chair covers and sashes to match the happy couple’s
colour scheme. The package also includes a night for the couple in
one of the gorgeous bush chalets on the wedding night.

The
Resort, perched high above the sandy beach and set in native bush,
has 42 private tree house style chalets , so there is plenty of
accommodation for guests attending from outside of New Zealand too.
The
Resort has fine leisure facilities too, an outdoor pool, spa, sauna,
gym and tennis court, and if guests opt to linger they can fish and
play golf nearby.
Virgin,
Air New Zealand, Qantas, Emirates and Jetstar all fly to Auckland
with flights from a low $388 per person return from Sydney.
