Having
watched the Vienna Experts Club International (VECI) go from strength
to strength in seven European countries, the Vienna Tourist Board has
now rolled out the popular venture worldwide.
Club
membership has been available to travel industry professionals all
over the world since the start of 2013, opening up an excellent
opportunity for them to find out more about the Austrian capital.
Employees
of travel agencies and tour
operators from around the world offering trips to
Vienna have been eligible for club membership since January 2013.
Since then the number of members has increased to about 11,600, with
37 countries now represented. The first month alone brought more than
220 new registrations.
The
club gives its members the chance to discover precisely what Vienna’s
new and traditional attractions have to offer when they visit the
city. The move gives even more travel industry professionals an
unprecedented insight into what makes the city tick, so that they in
turn can sell and market trips to the Austrian capital.
Among the concessions granted to members are free admission to
museums and sights, as well as opera tickets. Vienna Experts can also
look forward to discounts at bars, restaurants and various leisure
attractions. As a special incentive, the capital’s hoteliers have
put together a range of attractively priced packages.
These are advertised in regular newsletters and posted on the club
website at www.viennaexpertsclub.at where members can find out about
all the latest events and browse the countless attractions that
Vienna has to offer. As part of the global expansion, the Vienna
Experts Club International website has been revamped to include an
online training program. The new website went live at the start of
2013 in five languages (English, French, German, Italian and
Spanish). The Vienna Tourist Board also hosts club events in its
target markets, and regularly invites VECI members to attend special
functions and presentations.
The
Vienna Tourist Board founded the Vienna Experts Club International in
2006 for the German market, before going on to include France, Italy,
the Netherlands, Spain and Romania. It has established itself as a
genuine success story, welcoming more and more new members all the
time. By founding the Vienna Experts Club International the Vienna
Tourist Board set new standards in B2B communications, and the
decision to open up membership to travel industry professionals
worldwide is further confirmation of its trailblazing role in this
area.
