Captain Cook Cruises has announced it will, for the first time on the Murray River, operate a seven night Mannum to Loxton cruise departing 29 November 2013 and a Loxton to Mannum cruise departing 6 December 2013.
Both
cruises will be operated by the paddle wheeler, PS Murray Princess.

The
Loxton cruise takes in over 339kms of the Murray River, passing
through three locks between Mannum and Loxton. Following in the wake
of the great 19th Century pioneers, the PS Murray Princess will
negotiate massive sandbars and submerged forests, cruise past
towering limestone cliffs, through picturesque gorges and along
riverbanks lined with mallee scrub and red gum forests.
The
Mannum to Loxton cruise visits River View Lodge, Sunnydale,
Blanchetown, Morgan, Waikerie and Kingston-on-Murray before arriving
at Loxton where passengers will disembark and travel back to Adelaide
by complimentary coach. An Adelaide pick up service is available too.
The
Loxton to Mannum cruise will pass through New Residence,
Kingston-on-Murray via Cobdogla, Waikerie, Morgan, Blanchetown,
Sunnydale and Younghusband via Ngaut Ngaut before arriving at Mannum
where passengers will disembark and travel back to Adelaide by
complimentary coach.
Each
day will feature exciting day trips including a visit to historic
ports, museums, vineyards, sacred Aboriginal sites and a native
wildlife shelter. There’s even a food
and wine trial that enables tasting at a
number of vineyards and cellar doors, and one evening passengers can
enjoy an Aussie-style campfire barbecue on the river bank.
The
Mannum to Loxton cruise departs Mannum on 29 November 2013 at 4.30pm
and disembarks at Loxton on Friday 6 December at 9.00am. The Loxton
to Mannum cruise departs Loxton at 4.30pm on Friday 6 December, 2013
at 4.30pm and disembarks at Mannum on 13 December at 9.00am. Coach
transfers are available from Adelaide departing at 1.30pm on 29
November 2013 and 9.30am 6 December 2013.
The
seven night cruises starts from $1799 per person twin share and
include accommodation, all meals, guided nature walks and
eco-excursions, onboard presentations, use of ship’s facilities,
the Captain’s Dinner and Cocktail Party, live entertainment and
complimentary scenic coach transfers to and from Adelaide.
