Istanbul CVB GM named Chairman of ICCA Mediterranean Chapter

Mediterranean, Central Europe, the Middle East and the United Kingdom/Ireland chapters of International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) gathered in Thessaloniki, Greece for the annual meeting.

A group of 40 representatives of ICCA Chapters met on January 31 - February 2, 2013 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

On the first day ICCA CEO Martin Sirk gave a presentation about ICCA Master Class which informs audience about the benefits of membership in the association. He invited members to use free ICCA tools in their marketing activities, including PR Kit, bma.iccaworld.com website where they can upload their best marketing campaigns etc. He also encouraged the use of the world's largestconferences database (by ICCA).

Mike van der Vijver (MindMeeting) led a workshop where he introduced the concept of "creative meetings", how to creatively and effectively organize conferences on the second day of the meeting.

Miranda Ioannou from SCS Limited - Cyprus and Valentini Amarantidou from Artion Conferences and Events – Greece presented their experiences working knowledge of sponsorship in the meetings industry. Moreover, Steen Jakobsen from Wonderful Copenhagen - Denmark shared his experiences in the field of sustainable development.On the third – the last day of the annual meeting ICCA Mediterranean Chapter from Miranda Ioannou, who held the position for four years, handed over the chairmanship to Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau General Manager Elif Balcı Fisunoğlu.
