of 6 per cent in comparison to last month. One night
in February will cost an average of £86, in comparison to £82 in
January. One night in February 2012, however, cost an average of £91.
Although hotel prices have increased in comparison to last
month, they have decreased by an average of 5 per cent in
comparison to this time last year.
The
most significant increases in comparison to January can be found in
the Carnival cities of Venice (up 38 per centto an average of
£132 per night) and Valencia (up 19 per cent to £63 per

of weekend breaks from 15th to 17th February. Alternatively, these
destinations may have proved popular for February half term breaks,
causing an increase in hotel prices.
Those

getaway may want to consider Riga (down 26 per cent in
comparison to January to an average of £56 per night), Prague (down
21 per cent to £61 per night) or Florence (down 13 per
