More than 250 specialists from 27 countries participated in three-day EFEA Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
They
traveled for the discussion about European meeting industry
development - mainly from Belgium, USA, Hungary, Poland, Germany,
India and China.
Anna
Gorska, the CEO of Gdansk Convention Bureau/Gdansk Tourist
Organization and ICCA Central European Chapter Chairperson, for the
second time participated in the Forum. The meeting organizers invited
Anna Gorska totake
part in the session about the usage of new
venues created for the purpose of large events. Participants took a
closer look on Gdansk experience after the EURO 2012. During the same
session, London showed its 2012 Summer Olympics results.
Remaining
session's topics were mainly about the usage of new technology and
social media in the business meetings preparations; statistics;
activities of convention bureaus around the world; hybrid meetings
and orderer - contractor relations and cooperation. Forum was very
interactive - during all event on walls there were participants's
tweets showed.
Anna
Gorska: "I believe that Forum is a very proper place for
exchange of experience. Rich educational program will guarantee that
the Forum development will continue undisturbed."
There
was a novelty in this year's Forum edition - talent contest. During 6
minute long presentations. 4 young people used the "pechakucha"
technique and showed their visions about the state of business
meeting industry in year 2020. Young poeple had a lot to say about
business tourism and it's future.
