A small and select number of outstanding hotels across the globe are celebrating with a high five! The reason for this triumphant gesture is that they have just achieved the only truly international five-star status.
Winners
of the International Hotel Awards were disclosed at a high profile
presentation dinner at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square in
London on Sunday, 4th November 2012.
One
World Hotel, Petaling Jaya was named the Best International
Convention Hotel that evening. Having won the title of Best
Convention Hotel for Malaysia and Asia Pacific in April this year,
One World Hotel competed against other winning entries from around
the world to emerge as the world’s best in London.
“Apart
from being a 5-star hotel, One World Hotel is also known for its
excellent MICE facilities. It has over 5000 sq m of meeting space
spanning over three levels of the hotel. With a total of 18 meeting
rooms of various sizes, meeting organisers can expect not only
flexibility, but warm and personalised service from our dedicated
team of conventions & events specialists. The meeting rooms are
also equipped with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment” says Mr
Ho Hoy Sum, the hotel’s general manager.
“The
team is truly excited and honoured to receive this prestigious award.
It has affirmed our position as the leading convention hotel in
Malaysia and recognition globally for the hotel’s excellent service
and facilities as well as unwavering commitment in offering guests
world-class facilities and unsurpassed service standards. This award
is dedicated to my entire team who has worked so hard in ensuring
that only the highest standards of service and genuine hospitality
are delivered consistently to satisfy our guests’ needs and
expectations” added Mr Ho Hoy Sum.
In
addition to categories for different sized and specifically targeted
hotels, the International Hotel Awards includes sections for the best
hotel architecture, interior design, marketing and website covering
the entire range of hotel disciplines. Entries are first judged at
country level before the top scoring winners go forward to be
re-judged internationally.
Stuart
Shield, president of the International Hotel Awards, says, “I am
confident that our winners will attract the attention of the most
discerning clientele wishing to be assured of the finest hospitality
in the world.”
