United Airlines is boosting its new seasonal service to Glasgow from Newark, even before it kicks off.
The Glasgow service launches on May 9, and has been extended by a month until October 24, with United citing strong passenger demand.
That equates to a more than 20% increase in seat capacity for the summer.
“We are pleased to see strong interest and this significant expansion further underlines the importance of Scotland within United’s global route network,” said Karolien De Hertogh, United’s Director Sales UK and Ireland.
“Our customers in Scotland will be able to benefit from even more travel options to visit New York City.”
United’s Newark hub offers Scottish travellers connections to more than 140 destinations across the US and the Americas vis United’s network.
Along with Glasgow, United is adding a number of new transatlantic routes like Split, Croatia, Bari in Italy, and Spain’s Santiago de Compostela.
