Launching this new route to northern Finland aligns with our strategy of expanding into destinations with significant tourism potential. Notably, LOT will now be the only airline in Central and Eastern Europe to offer direct scheduled flights to Rovaniemi. I believe this destination will quickly become popular among our passengers. Lapland is a remarkable region, offering stunning landscapes, peace and open space along with a wide selection of winter activities. It’s a place to escape everyday routine and experience the unique atmosphere of the far north. We warmly invite passengers aboard our flights.

Rovaniemi, located at the heart of Finland's Lapland, is famous for its spectacular winter scenery – but it’s also the ultimate spot for Christmas enthusiasts. Here, Santa Claus Village offers visitors a glimpse into festive secrets, attracting more than half a million travellers every year. Undoubtedly, meeting Santa himself tops the list of local highlights. Equally appealing is a visit to Santa Claus’s post office, where anyone can send letters or parcels bearing a special Arctic Circle postal stamp anywhere in the world. Another popular attraction is wandering through Santa’s snowy, fir-covered forest or crossing the Arctic Circle itself, which runs directly through the village’s central square.

The centre of Rovaniemi itself is a vibrant attraction. Although winter plunges this northern city into polar darkness, Rovaniemi remains lively, inviting visitors into cosy cafés and restaurants found along almost every street to try local specialities. Designed by the renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, the modern city offers surprises at every turn; viewed from above, its layout remarkably resembles a reindeer's head, complete with antlers. And despite its urban landscape, a casual stroll along the city's streets can sometimes lead you to an unexpected encounter – a roaming reindeer.

Those with an artistic leaning should head to Korundi House of Culture or the Rovaniemi Art Museum. At Korundi, audiences can enjoy captivating performances by the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, while the museum offers a varied selection of compelling exhibitions by artists from across the Arctic region.
Lapland offers winter sports enthusiasts an exceptional experience. Its lengthy snowy winters and pristine wilderness create excellent conditions for a range of outdoor activities. There are hundreds of kilometres of cross-country skiing trails, many of which are well-lit and expertly maintained. Lapland is also home to renowned ski resorts like Levi and Ylläs, offering superb facilities for downhill skiers and snowboarders.
An added bonus is the chance to witness the northern lights, which frequently illuminate the sky during these activities. While in Rovaniemi, venturing just beyond the city lights reveals the extraordinary colours dancing across the night sky – a truly unforgettable experience that’s surprisingly easy to come across here. Lapland is the ideal destination for travellers seeking winter in its most authentic and magical form.
Tickets for flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Rovaniemi are available across all sales channels, including lot.com, the LOT Contact Center and LOT Travel offices.
