Women in aviation take to the stage at ERA’s spring event

This week, ERA will welcome hundreds of delegates to the south coast of France as part of its first major event of the year. The Regional Airline Conference, taking place in Nice, on 29–30 March, will feature an all-women cast of presenters and speakers with a diverse range of experience from across the aviation industry.

This will include: Marylin Bastin, Head of Aviation Sustainability, EUROCONTROL; Africa Abajas, Head of Sustainable Aviation, Vertis Environmental Finance; Maria Fiskerud, Innovation Eco-System Lead, Heart Aerospace; Mariagrazia La Piscopia, Executive Director, SESAR Deployment Manager; Anastasija Visnakova, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Deutsche Aircraft; Marie Owens Thomsen, SVP Sustainability and Chief Economist, IATA; Giulia Mauri, Aviation Partner, Kadrant; Professor Regula Dettling-Ott, Chair of the Performance Review Body; Zuzana Hrnkova, Vice President Marketing, ATR; Anna Wilson, Head of External Relations, SAS; Sandrine de Saint Sauveur, President and CEO, APG Airlines; Heather Gordon, Legal Director, Martyn Fiddler Aviation; Elisabeth Kotthaus, Head of Unit for Social Affairs, Passenger Rights and Equal Opportunities, DG MOVE, European Commission; and Faye Malarkey Black, President and CEO, Regional Airline Association.

With sustainability still very much at the forefront of political and industry agendas, this will be the theme whilst delving into key aspects of environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and social sustainability, which will feature subjects such as decarbonisation initiatives, access to green finance, managing consumer expectations and staff shortages amongst other key subjects to ensure the long-term viability of our industry. The full agenda can be found here.

Montserrat Barriga, Director General, ERA, said: “It is very exciting to welcome an all-female lineup of speakers and presenters at this year’s unique conference. Not only is this an amazing opportunity to showcase the knowledge and expertise of women in aviation, but I am proud ERA can be an advocate, enhancing the role of  women in the industry and I want to thank all of you who have supported this concept. We look forward to the thought-provoking discussions that are expected to be generated as part of this sustainability-focussed agenda.”
