Survey reveals post-COVID business travel sentiments

In a survey around changes to business travel patterns and sentiments as a result of COVID-19, it is found that over a third of respondents (36 percent) said that they are now taking fewer trips altogether, with 10 per cent stating that they are taking more longer trips, and 5 percent increasing their use of rail travel over flights.

Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of respondents said that they felt they had less choice and flexibility due to changes in travel policies as a result of COVID-19, although the majority of these said that this was understandable rather than frustrating.

After two years of very little business travel, the vast majority said that they felt “fine” about travelling in a post COVID-19 world, with only 6 per cent stating that they were “not confident”.

However, 16 per cent said that they would prefer to travel less because of them and their family’s - and the same percentage stating they would like to travel less in order to reduce carbon emissions.
