Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), the leading meetings and conventions event in the region, has announced its mission for AIME 2020 (17–19 February) – to bring more diversity in business to the Asia Pacific with an increase of 50 percent hosted buyers and 30 percent exhibitors.

Seven months out, AIME already has 65 percent of its show floor booked as well as 50 percent of the Hosted Buyer program full – a trajectory that will see a broader mix of delegates meeting to lead, inspire and connect.

Newly confirmed exhibitors include India Tourism, Fairmont Singapore, Minor Hotels and Taronga Zoo.

“The 2019 event showcased to the business events world AIME’s reimagined format – and it got people talking. This year, we’re really upping the ante with some aggressive growth targets, which ultimately mean more positive commercial outcomes for buyers and exhibitors,” said Matt Pearce, CEO, Talk2 Media & Events.

With almost 60 percent of the world’s population located in the Asia-Pacific region, AIME is positioned as the perfect platform to capitalize on the region’s growing business events industry.

Bernadette Panton, AIME Hosted Buyer Manager, has been building a program designed uniquely for Asia-Pacific buyers.

“AIME delivers a diverse range of buyers from across the globe, with the vast majority of from Asia Pacific and the remaining travelling from Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

“Our most important task at the moment is ensuring that these buyers are properly vetted to certify they have business to place in the Asia Pacific region.”

The 2020 Knowledge Program is also shaping up to be more dynamic than ever, open to both buyers and exhibitors, offering a bespoke experience across all sectors including associations, corporate, government and education. More details on the Knowledge Program will be released in the coming months.

Running 17–19 February, AIME is the first event to kick off the 2020 MICE calendar and is held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
