Cruise vessel operator Star Cruises has mentioned on Monday that its flagship vessel would be calling Manila its home port and it would be offering specially themed tours to Taiwan and Japan.
SuperStar Virgo would provide 18 cruises from Manila to Ishigaki in Okinawa, Keelung, Japan and back, and also Manila to Naha in Japan and Keelung in Taiwan and back according to Michael Goh, senior vice president for international sales, Star Cruises.
The summer deployments from the Manila ports strive to lure affordable and convenient vacations to Filipino families by making way for visa-free visits to Japan and Taiwan.
These cruises would be operating from 5th March till 29th March.
Star Cruises have always offered trips from Manila to Laoag in Ilicos Norte and then to Kaohsiung in Taiwan and in Hong Kong prior to returning to Manila.
Goh has told the media reports of an agency that to them Philippines forms an important target market as they feel there is a good deal of potential.
New themed cruises would be introduced this year.
On 30th March they would also be offering the ‘Sports Cruise’ with an on board basketball clinic led by some legends like Benjie Paras, Jerry Codiñera, Johnny Abarrientos and Alvin Patrimonio.
