The very first ‘smart train’ of the world have commenced the test runs in China.
China has revealed that these brand trains would be operating on ‘virtual tracks’ in Zhuzhou city and the railway system has successfully began the test runs in the Chinese city yesterday.
The train is being promoted as the ‘World’s First smart train’.
The vehicle runs on virtual rail lines and would be able to travel at 70 kmh. The smart train is referred to as the ‘Autonomous Rail Transit (ART)’ and was designed to deal with the urban traffic issues.
As per one of the world’s leading news media agencies, the first track-less trains commenced their operations on 23rd October.
The unique train was first demonstrated to the world in June 2017 and has been created by CRRC Corporation Limited that represents the largest train manufacturers of the world. And this new train is considered a hybrid between a bus and a tram.
The train runs on virtual railways represented by white lines and measures 3.75 in width.
The virtual train system is believed to be much cheaper as compared to the tram and subway system. The engineers expect that it would offer a chic riding option to help control the urban traffic.
Flaunting a beautiful, sleek body and a comfortable seating system, it runs on rubber wheels with a plastic core.
This sensor technology enables the train in understanding the roads and helps trains easily glide through smoothly. It is expected that the new vehicle would be starting full-fledged operations in the spring and the three compartments can carry about 300 passengers.
