Brexit might resurrect the traditional blue British passport

The post Brexit United Kingdom might soon replace the burgundy passports of the British nationals with the good old navy passports.

Following the Brexit vote, several British MPs have expressed their interest to reintroduce the traditional navy passport to the world. Julian Knight, the Conservative MP has raised a question about the issue to the Home Office. The Home Office has later informed that they are looking into the matter at present.

Minister Robert Goodwill has stated, “We are considering potential changes to the UK passport after the UK has left the European Union. At this early stage we have not undertaken a detailed cost benefit analysis or made any decisions about what a future UK passport might look like.”

MP for Solihull, Mr. Knight has informed that the blue passport is a symbol of their independence as a strong, proud nation.

Mr. Knight has also stated, “I think this is a clear shift in position. I am very pleased to see that my calls and those of other MPs seem to be having an effect and that officials are now looking at the prospect of reintroducing this great symbol of our independence and our nation.”

A number of MPs in UK, including outgoing Ukip leader Nigel Farage have demanded the government to reintroduce the blue traditional passport.

It looks like the British citizen might get back a piece of their old tradition in the form of a brand new blue passport.
