M&D’s theme park reopens after rollercoaster derailed in June

Scotland’s theme part M&D’s has reopened, even after 1500 people signed a petition against the opening of the park. On 26th June, the Tsunami rollercoaster ride has crashed and severely injured 10 people.

Despite of the nationwide school holidays and ongoing Glasgow fair, people have chosen to avoid the theme park out of caution. The popular rides, which usually receive long queues of thrill seekers, have been found to be empty after the reopening.

The park authorities have kept the Tsunami ride and the Runaway Train ride closed for visitors.

The Strathclyde Country Park hosts the theme park, where five carriages of the Tsunami rollercoaster has derailed while riding at a speed of 40 miles per hour.

The previous safety officer of the park, businessman Craig Boswell, has been banned from his duty for issuing safety certificate for the doomed ride just 16 days prior to the horrific accident.

The families of the victims have signed a petition to prevent the park from reopening but, all their efforts have gone in vain. The victims of the crash still get traumatised while thinking about the crash.
