Read announcement of EU Tourism Jobs and Growth Manifesto.
ETOA welcomes the publication of this manifesto, which seeks to raise awareness of the value of tourism and identify policy priorities. ETOA is one of the original signatories, and with its members' input from the Lucerne Tourism Summit in October contributed to the document's development.
The manifesto represents the views of a wide group of industry stakeholders in Europe, and deserves careful attention at EU, national and local level. It covers topics from competitiveness and digitalisation to infrastructure and sustainability. It has been warmly received by MEPs and the Commission.
Tom Jenkins, ETOA's CEO, commented: "That such a manifesto was necessary demonstrates the need for action. Unless we address the EU's competitiveness as a destination and as a place to do business, the prospects for tourism's success will reduce."
