United increases comfort on Berlin – New York flights

United Airlines is improving its service by deploying larger aircraft to New York from Berlin. From now on, the airline will be replacing the Boeing 757-200 previously used on that route with a Boeing 767-400 and a 767-300. This means that United Airlines can now offer passengers twice as many flat-bed seats in Premium Class as before and will also be able to introduce a First Class service in August.
The Boeing 767-400 in operation on this route from today has 242 passenger seats, comprising 39 flat-bed seats in Business Class, 70 seats in EconomyPlus and 133 seats in Economy Class. The airline has improved the level of comfort it offers passengers on board by providing more legroom, more space in the aisles and also an excellent entertainment system.
On 2 August, United Airlines will commence operation of a Boeing 767-300 with 183 seats in three classes on the Berlin-New York route. The aircraft has six seats in First Class, making United Airlines the only airline to offer First Class travel to New York from Berlin.
United Airlines operates one daily flight from the German capital to the New York hub Newark Liberty International Airport. Since it first introduced the route in 2005, the airline has flown some 900,000 passengers to New York from Berlin-Tegel Airport.
