A suicide bomber has been killed in an attack targeting the ancient Karnak temple in the southern Egyptian city of Luxor. Another attacker was shot dead by authorities during the attack on Wednesday, while a third was arrested, officials said, adding that a police officer was injured.
The attack at Karnak temple, one of Egypt's most famous tourist attractions is an ancient Egyptian temple near Luxor popular with tourists.
Egypt's state news reported that no tourists were injured, citing an anonymous "senior security source". Health ministry officials said there were only a handful of tourists and Egyptians inside the temple at the time of the late morning attack.
