Fiera Milano welcomes the world’s most beautiful dogs

From 10 to 14 June, Fiera Milano will be hosting the World Dog Show, the biggest canine event on the planet. This show, organised by ENCI (the Italian Kennel Club) will be held in the exhibition district in Rho, over an area of 103,000 square meters (six pavilions), ready to host more than 20,000 dogs from all over the world.
The World Dog Show 2015 will bring to Milan a forecasted 150,000 dog lovers in terms of audience. 300 different breeds of dogs are expected to take part, from more than 40 countries. During the 4-day event, 200 international judges will assess the animals taking part in the various competitions, with the final price going to the most beautiful dog in the world. There will be exhibitions of dog dance, flyball, disco dog and agility. There will also be competitions for junior handlers, where youngsters will battle it out in their best performances with dogs of different breeds and sizes. The event will then offer an opportunity to learn about the abilities of search and rescue and service dogs.
World dog show 2015
After fifteen years, the World Dog Show is back in Italy, ready to welcome the best dogs of the most represented breeds in the 101 rings set up at Fiera Milano. The most numerous groups are the Pinschers, Schnauzers, Mastiffs and Swiss Mountain Dogs, followed by companion breeds with over 3,000 registered and Terriers with more than 2,500 dogs confirmed. After five days of expert judging, the most beautiful dog in the world will be chosen. But to reach this eagerly awaited moment, the dogs taking part, of all different breeds and initially divided into gender and class, will be the focus of attention of an expert judge who will evaluate morphological characteristics, good and bad points according to the international breed standards.
The best canine individual will then be selected, followed by a parade of dogs of different breeds, to identify the best in each particular group. The competition will continue until just 10 dogs are left in the running, representative of each group. The climax of the event will come on Sunday 14 June, when Best in Show will be decided, and the winner of the World Dog Show 2015 will be announced.
