The US-based ride-sharing company Uber will offer helicopter service between the Nice-Côte d'Azur airport and Cannes. Uber has reached an exclusive partnership agreement with Hélipass to offer this luxury service.
According to French news channel BFMTV, this first-of-its-kind service in France will be tested out during the Cannes Film Festival, which runs May 13-24.
Included in the Uber app, the new flight feature will offer "a seat in a helicopter that will take off 15 minutes later" according to Frédéric Aguettant, president of Hélipass, which signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Uber to shuttle users to and from Cannes in 7 minutes for 160 euros.
The new icon will appear in user's apps on the first day of the festival, May 13.
