Dafaocheng’s is, roughtly, the area to the immediate north of Taipei Railway Station between the Tamsui River and Zhongshan North Road.
This is an interesting neighborhood, witha number of old temples (confucius, Bao’an, and Xiahai City God) and the well – known Dihua Street well worth visiting. If you’d like to learn a thing or two about the local history, culture, architecture, and so on, rather than simply walking around, joining a guided tour organized by the Taipei Walking Tour group is a good option. Each session lasts two to three hours, and is either a walking tour or a walking tour combined with a workshop, during which you can learn about tea drinking, traditional cake making, or other interesting subjects.
