NEW YORK—The largest Hilton Garden Inn hotel in North America, designed by Gene Kaufman Architects (GKA) and developed by The Moinian Group, is set to officially open in late January here.
The GKA team handled both the exterior and interior design concept for this new addition to the Hilton Worldwide Portfolio of brands located at 237 West 54th St.
“The dark stone facade of this hotel is more reflective of archetypal New York City architecture than some neighboring structures while still exuding a modern edge. Because of its midblock location, the building is meant to have a powerful, geometric presence, a sense of contextuality and permanence,” stated Gene Kaufman, founder of GKA.
He added, “The exterior is analogous to the LBD, chic yet timeless, while the interior of the hotel is a reinterpretation and elevation of the Hilton Garden Inn brand’s standard. The interiors stay true to the brand spirit while incorporating customized elements catering to tastes and expectations of guests in this superb location.”
