SAN ANTONIO, TX—The San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk has just completed a multi-million dollar ballroom renovation.
The renovation project encompassed the 9,800-sq.-ft. Alamo Ballroom as well as the hotel's breakout rooms and pre-function areas, all of which received new carpeting, wall coverings and paint.
Automated light sensors were added so that the lights turn off automatically when the rooms are not occupied to conserve energy, hang points were added to the Alamo Ballroom to enable three different meeting configurations, new linenless buffet tables will now be used for all of the breaks and food stations to conserve on laundry use, and new chocolate brown suede will be used for the conference tables.
The audio/visual system was refurbished; an enhanced sound system was added, as well as a new lighting and dimming system. Additional upgrades include new banquet chairs, artwork and mirrors and furniture in the ballroom's pre-function space. Overall the hotel features a total of 14,976 sq. ft. of function space and 15 meeting rooms.
