On the threshold of
September 1 and the beginning of the school year Moscow Domodedovo
Airport 2013. In June, July and
August a number of children who made flights through Domodedovo is over half a
million. According to the experts prognosis during the summer of 2013 will be
transported 570 thousand little travelers. That is 18% higher compared to the
same period of the last year and is another historical record reached by the
airport.
Flight
statistics for children is similar to the total passenger traffic of the
airport. The biggest growth was on international directions: during the summer
season were transported 325 thousand children. On domestic destinations during
June-August the number of carried little travelers is 245 thousand.
The
most “child” month became June: 210 thousand little passengers is the result of
the first summer month 2013, when 156 thousand (+41%) were transported on
international directions and 54 thousand ( +11%) on domestic destinations. The
total increase for the first 30 days of summer amounted to impressive 32%
(compared to the same period of 2012).
The
number of children traveled through Domodedovo in January-August 2013,
according to preliminary estimates, will exceed 900 thousand that 21% higher
than in January-August of 2012.
All
children receives maximum care at Domodedovo, but a special help of employees
is given to those who travels without parents. Children are met and accompanied
by specialists of the special service.The agents receive and escort little
travelers from the aircraft board to the
passenger terminal where pass them in hands of authorized relatives. Children
departing from Domodedovo will be accompanied by the specialist who will take
the child from check-in and guard him or her till emplaning, helping to pass
through the all stages of boarding control. Number of children, traveling
without adults, in the summer of 2013 has increased by 25% compared with 2012.
The limit age for such passengers is set by the airline. Children over 5 year
have the opportunity to travel on their own.
In
Domodedovo are envisaged a wide range of possibilities for little travelers.
There is a room for mothers with children situated on the 2nd floor of the
passenger terminal with 24-hour
attendance. It is equipped with everything necessary to have fun and
interesting games. Professional animators and babysitters help adults to
entertain their children. There is a playroom for children in the international
departure area. Jungle gym, unforgettable impressions from the airside view
trough the panoramic window are waiting for them.
Domodedovo
opens to children fascinating aviation world. Since 2008 airport has been
holding excursions for schoolboys. Children now can participate in traditional
spotting events with adults: together with their parents they can dive into the
work process of the airport during unique photo tours at the airside.
