Traffic and transport figures for September 2025

 

6.1 million passengers flew to, from or via Schiphol in September 2025. It is an increase of 1% compared to 2024. Most passengers flew to Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece and the United States. The number of flights to and from Schiphol was 41,374. That is a decrease of 1% compared to 2024.

85% of departing flights this weekend able to take off from Brussels Airport despite the unavailability of the check-in system

 

As a result of a cyberattack on Collins Aerospace, the American external service provider of the check-in and boarding systems, check-in operations at several European airports, including Brussels Airport, have been disrupted since Friday evening. 85% of flights departing from Brussels Airport will nevertheless be able to take off as scheduled this weekend. Cancellations and delays are still to be expected on Monday as long as manual check-in is necessary.

Heathrow Airport: Successful start to 2025 with record-breaking January

 

• 
  Last month was Heathrow’s busiest January on record, with over 6.3 million passengers travelling through the UK’s only hub airport - up over 5 percent on the same time last year.

 

• January marked the eleventh month in a row Heathrow averaged over 200,000 passengers a day, with trans-Atlantic travel a key contributor of this growth. Over 1.2 million passengers travelled between the UK and US, up 8 percent compared with 2024.

New flight routes from Riga Airport this Summer season

During this summer season, travelers will have an opportunity to go to a total of 105 direct flight destinations from Riga Airport. 1.48 million passengers travelled via BER in January 2024

Around 1.48 million passengers were counted in January 2024, according to the preliminary figures in the traffic report. This corresponds to an increase of 12.8 per cent compared to January 2023, with approximately 1.31 million passengers. In January in the pre-pandemic year 2019, 2.42 million passengers travelled through the two airports Tegel and Schönefeld.
