European travel continues to grow, but the dynamics behind that growth are changing.
The latest Cirium data shows passenger growth becoming increasingly concentrated within Europe while low-cost carriers, Asian markets and long-haul capacity are reshaping the wider picture.
Some of the shifts we're seeing: |
|
|
|
- European seat capacity is up 2.6%, growing faster than flight volumes.
- Nearly 7 in 10 passenger journeys are within Europe, with intra-European journeys growing 5.5%.
- Low-cost carriers now account for more than 40% of European capacity.
- Long-haul is driving Q4 growth, with capacity to Asia and Africa up 5–6% compared with Q4 2025.
For travel businesses, understanding these shifts is only part of the challenge. Turning them into better decisions, smoother operations and stronger traveler experiences is where data becomes valuable. | |
